CSG Home page Male Domestic Abuse During the Coronavirus LockdownI am writing to you on behalf of AMIS, a registered Scottish charity that supports men who are or have experienced domestic abuse. We are reaching out to raise awareness, and to protect and support men across all of Scotland's local authorities. Lockdown is an especially difficult situation for anyone in an abusive relationship. There are many hundreds of men across Aberdeenshire who are currently receiving no support. There will be many men who are yet to recognise the abuse or are suffering in silence, even in your ward. We must care for the mental and physical health of everyone. With your help, we can support these men and their families. You may already be familiar with our services, but here's how we can offer support:
We work with any man who lives in Scotland and is over 16 years old, inclusive of transgender and non-heterosexual men. Anyone concerned about a man can also use our services to get information and advice. We used to offer highly rated face-to-face support but are not currently receiving any significant donations or government funding to continue this service. However, our helpline and email support are still running and are ready to help. If you can, please publicise our services to protect the men in Aberdeenshire:
Resources can be downloaded from amis.org.uk/resources. Together we can create a happier and safer Scotland for everyone. Please let me know if I can help in any way. All the very best,
Aiden Pacey Top of page | CSG home page |
