Theft of quad bike near Forgue

Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a green Yamaha 350 Quad bike from a farm in the Forgue area between mid-day and 4pm on Sunday 23 April 2023.

Anyone with information can contact the Police on 101 or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 2265 of Sunday 23 April 2023.

North East Division Crime Reduction Officer Constable Urquhart said:

"These types of vehicles are easy to steal as thieves can jump on and drive off when you are working on a farm or target them from workshops and barns. Remote locations such as farms can offer rich pickings due to their rural location and isolation from other neighbours.

"Consider investing in a quad specific security device such as the Sold Secure Diamond approved Suip Protector -

"Never leave your keys in the ignition even if you only briefly leave your ATV unattended. Keep gates to yards closed as open gates can be an open invitation to thieves."
