Accidents are the biggest killer of children and young people. Every week at least
one child under-5 is killed because of an accident, with disadvantaged children most at risk.
So RoSPA is shining a spotlight on simple things you can do to stop your child becoming an
accident statistic. RoSPA will also share advice on good safety habits to get into,
and the things you really need to buy to help keep your little ones safe.
RoSPA will be out and about during the week getting out the first of their Keeping Kids
Safe packs and spreading safety messages, in person, or via their social media channels.
But they need your help too! Whether you're a parent or carer, a grandparent, a health
visitor, a nursery nurse, or a company, you can get involved. You could run a family
safety day for your staff, put on a child safety session for parents, or simply share
RoSPA's resources and tips with friends or on social media. Who knows? You could save a little life!
RoSPA Ambassador Martin Roberts says:
"Preventing accidents isn't about overzealous rules and regulations - it is about
looking after the ones you love. I know how crucial it is to get the balance right."
