Fake Emails Claiming To Be from Martin Lewis

Police have issued a warning for consumers to watch out for fake emails claiming to be from MoneySavingExpert.com founder Martin Lewis.

The warning comes after one Aberdeenshire resident was scammed out of over £35,000 having received an email from fraudsters using the Martin Lewis name.

North East Crime Reduction Officer PC Mike Urquhart said:

"These emails are fake, and the links within them lead to so-called 'phishing' websites designed to trick you into revealing your personal and financial details. If you receive these emails, do not follow the links and instead report to the National Cyber Security Centre. You can do so by emailing report@phishing.gov.uk."
