Suspicious Vehicle Sighted Near Fettercairn

Police are asking residents in the Fettercairn and South Aberdeenshire area to be vigilant. A white Citroen van with two male occupants wearing hi visibility vests was observed at 1230 on 15th March in Fettercairn. The males appeared to be looking at the heating oil tank belonging to a local business.

North East Division Crime Reduction Officer PC Mike Urquhart said:

"Like the rest of the UK we are seeing a sharp increase in the theft of heating fuel and red diesel. These thefts are being driven by high fuel prices. Please consider additional security measures to protect fuel tanks in rural areas and remain vigilant to any suspicious vehicles."

Please report any suspicious activity to Police on 101. If you see a crime in progress please dial 999.
