Is-Your-Number-Up logo - click for more information Buchan CSG is promoting the "Is Your Number Up" scheme and urges householders to display clear door numbers or house names to help emergency services save valuable time and lives. If the emergency services or a doctor are called out to a house but have to spend time tracing it because it does not have a clear door number or house name, it can add seconds or even minutes to their response time and that could cost lives.

    Mobile phone picture

    Buchan CSG is promoting ICE.
Eight out of ten people aren’t carrying information that would help if they were involved in an accident. Storing next-of-kin details in your mobile phone can assist the emergency services if you’re unable to tell them who to contact.

ICE stands for "In Case of Emergency": it’s what the emergency services will look for if you’re involved in an accident and have your mobile phone with you.

Simply use your mobile’s phone book to store the name and number of someone who should be contacted if you have an emergency – but add the letters ICE in front of their name.

Smoke alarm logo - click for more information The CSG has provided 17 smoke alarms for the hard of hearing.
